Amazon Listing Automation with n8n
Home → Portfolio → Amazon Listing Automation
Overview
A workflow automation project built in n8n as a tool for a main Amazon agent. It updates Amazon product listings safely: it fetches the current listing, builds and validates the proposed changes, asks a person for approval, and only then applies the update through Amazon’s API. The goal was to make listing changes faster without risking mistakes on live products.

Challenges & Goals
Updating Amazon listings by hand is slow and easy to get wrong, and a single wrong change to a live listing can affect sales, search visibility and compliance. The challenge was to let an automated agent propose and prepare listing updates, while keeping a human in control of what actually goes live.
Key Challenges
- Preventing incorrect or incomplete changes from reaching live listings
- Keeping a person in control of every update without slowing the process down
- Working reliably with Amazon’s API, including access token handling
- Making the workflow reusable as a tool for a larger AI agent
- Handling failed validations and declined updates cleanly
Objectives
- Fetch the current listing and compare it with the requested changes
- Validate every change before anything is sent for approval
- Add a human approval step before any update is applied
- Apply approved changes through Amazon’s API with a fresh access token
- Return a clear result for approved, declined and invalid requests
Final Result
The project delivered a reliable n8n sub-workflow that the main Amazon agent can call as a tool. Listing updates are now prepared automatically, checked before review, and applied only after approval. This removed repetitive manual work, reduced the risk of errors on live listings, and gave the team a safe, repeatable process they can build on.
